About Us

Mrs Moggie & Co is a small group dedicated to improving animal welfare in our local community. We take in animals who need a second chance at life, either from pounds or private surrenders, and provide them with the care they need to be rehomed. All animals who leave Mrs Moggie & Co will leave desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea-treated. We are committed to ensuring that each animal who passes through our group has a secure future, which is why we include trial periods for adoptions, remain as an emergency contact on microchips, and commit to taking any animal back in should the owner/s no longer be able to care for them.

No matter how many animals we take in, care for and responsibly rehome, there are always going to be more waiting. We passionately believe that, in order to have an impact, we need to also address the larger-scale issues in our community which create these situations. We actively advocate for responsible pet owership, and are always looking for opportunities to not only educate our community about responsible pet ownership - but to come alongside them and support them in achieving this. Most recently, this passion has led to our Last Litter program, aiming to stop the cycle of unwanted litters by desexing the mother, as well as vet-working and rehoming the entire litter.

We operate with a pro-life mentality; we strive for each animal that comes into our care to have happy, healthy and fulfiling lives. While we deeply care for each and every animal that comes into our care, we understand that there are circumstances in which it is not in an animal's best interests for life to be maintained. Farewelling precious heartbeats is one of the biggest challenges of being in rescue, however we believe it is our responsbility to make decisions in their best interests (in terms of comfort, wellbeing and life outcomes) and not in our own best interests to avoid a sad goodbye.
